Known for catering to the less-privileged children of the society, NLK Group added one more feather in its cap in 2016, NLK’S DISHA. DISHA started 4 years ago with the aim of imparting education as a means to encourage well-rounded development of children instead of just acquiring degrees and monetary success in life. Disha aims at making the academic base of its students strong along with the ability to utilize and perceive opportunities which can lead them towards a brighter future.
We are proud to have a rehabilitation centre, PUSHPA KHANNA MEMORIAL CENTRE (PKMC), that empowers kids with special needs through therapies, training,skill building, and provides them equal opportunities. The centre runs in the fond memory of the great visionary and founder Lt. Smt. Pushpa Khanna Ji. NLK Group Of Schools added another feather in its cap, NLK Academy at Mandhana, Kanpur, which is a co-ed. school that follows the CBSE curriculum and is also the venue for the Disha Literature Festival 2.0
The festival, aimed to motivate young readers, thinkers, and creative writers, has left no stone unturned to galvanize students as well as mentors to become today’s readers and tomorrow’s leaders.
The previous edition saw a plethora of workshops, panel discussions,reading and storytelling sessions. It was a truly rewarding experience for children as well as authors. Children left the session armed with new ideas and hearts full of inexplicable joy after experiencing the magic of words.
The Disha Literature Festival is an equalizer, trying to reach all sectors of society without discrimination, popularising the love of literature and offering a wealth of book-realted activities throughout the festival.
